AlfaOBD software provides diagnostic capabilities for vehicles manufactured by Stellantis, formerly known as FCA, including Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Dodge, RAM, Chrysler, and Jeep models. Support extends to Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper as well. While primarily designed with vehicle owners in mind, the software offers a range of features comparable to those found in professional diagnostic scanners. It supports numerous dealer-level procedures for diagnostics and configuration.

Note: Since model year 2018, FCA vehicles are equipped with a security gateway module (SGW) that restricts third-party diagnostic access. To fully utilize diagnostic functions, an SGW bypass is required. Owners of Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade, or Compass (MP) should ensure that the bypass supports the second high-speed CAN bus—connected to pins 12 and 13 of the OBD connector—to guarantee compatibility.

Note: If AlfaOBD fails to connect to a vehicle's ECU, displaying messages such as "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR," it is likely that the interface is either incompatible or defective.

AlfaOBD offers several features:

• Native support for electronic control units across Fiat group vehicles. This distinguishes AlfaOBD from many generic OBDII applications by providing dedicated support tailored to Fiat group ECUs.
• Real-time monitoring of various dynamic parameters within engine, gearbox, ABS, and climate control ECUs, with graphical plotting capabilities.
• Retrieval of static data such as ECU identification, system status, fault codes—including probable causes—and environmental information where relevant.
• Ability to clear fault codes from respective control units.
• Active diagnostics and configuration procedures for components managed by engine control units, gearboxes, body computers, climate control systems, ABS, airbags, and other ECUs.
• Electronic key and RF remote control programming functionalities.
